Just wondered whether it would be okay to cook and eat an egg that my girl had been sitting on with her 5 fertile eggs for the last 12 days Finally thought I would take it away from her and leave her with just the hatching ones - not sure if the one that has been being incubated (but not fertile) is alright to eat as normal

No. If its fertile (I think you mean it isn't) it will already have a half developed chick in it, and unfertile it will have gone off from the heat, and after 12 days its a bit long anyway.
