Got back from work worried and found her sitting on the nesting box and she was not happy to be moved. "Ooops, word censored!"ody about last 2 days to get eggs out seems to hang about there still but raced out for a treat i should also say the weather is pants here wet windy and my other girls staying under the roofing. what are classic signs of broody hens ? bottom seems abit grubby ( she is laying ok) Mags
Phosphorus
Unusual grunting noises, puffing up feathers like a balloon, pecking your hand and a bit more aggression than usual. Not leaving the nesting box, generally hogging it. Might have pulled feathers out of her breast - so you could find a few loose feathers in the nest. Hope this helps. Sky
Sounds like your one is the same as mine. I have spent the week getting her off of the nest and at long last it seems to be working. Takes a bit of time and perserverence though
craftyhunnypie
I've got a broody, but my circumstances are different. We have cockerels, so eggs can be fertile & we want her to sit on eggs. Unfortunately, she only has one egg under her. Going to put a few more under her tomorrow though. She is very grumpy & pecky, but still getting eating & drinking. Thank goodness.
