Very relieved and amazed chicken owner here

Recommended Posts

Over the weekend I noticed mish masch was not her normal self... standing very still in the run and looking very sleepy. Even a spinach leaf treat only got a half hearted response...

.. took her out and checked her over and her vent was not right.. bit puffy and inflamed... spoke to K who was even more worried than I was..

... so we are in the garden discussing what to do and mish masch squats and strains and is clearly not well and out pops a well formed softie... me and K are relieved as Momo often behaved like this with a softie...

.. however there is no immediate perking up.. and she is still listless, her vent is still twitching and something's still not right.

..I then see her strain again and I think I see the dreaded prolapse happening...

.. but no... another softie... literally within 5 mins if that of the first poor girl.... and post treats with a dose of calcium she heads off to bed without a care in the world.....

Our Cocoa did that a couple of weeks ago. She'd laid her usual one in the morning, but then in the afternoon she did two softies in a row. And then she was as right as rain!
