I was always told it was 2m square per chook?
I'm with ANH, I always thought it was 1m2 per chook, unless there was absolutely no opportunity to ever free range, in which case then 2m square.

I've just been having another look at your run to remind myself :) . It looks huge to me and fine for that number of hens (not that I'm an expert, only having 3 and a small WIR  ). I tried to make extra "floor" space for my girls with a bench and branches and my eglu on a table. You've obviously done the same with your fab jungle gym so perhaps you could invent more high-rise hentertainment to increase the surface area?

Funnily enough the eglu is now on a table!!!! It's been funny watching the new girls tackle it. Last night Molly got all the way up only to over balence back the other way! Poor thing.

The big girls aren't coming until july/aug as they are on order from the wernlas....

Fingers crossed all will be well, but I am feeling a little daunted and overwelmed about it all....
