How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

My girls are making a beeline for my blackcurrant bush to a ridiculous extent now, to the point where I can't let them out unless someone can be on red alert beside the bush (which is hardly ever ). I can keep them away from everything else ok, so I don't need meters and meters of netting, just something to keep them off this one bush - any ideas what I can do to keep the cost down?

A fruit cage?

I have to confess I've never heard of a fruit cage but then we've only had our garden for a few months so I'm learning!! Off to look it up now!

Eek !! Too expensive - it's only a little bush! Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing they're pretty costly!

Some canes and a bit of netting then?

Would that be strong enough? I thought they might get through that but if it's strong enough it's ideal

I've put wooden fencing around my raspberries and nailed chicken wire around it!!! Girls have finally left them alone!!!

Naughty blackbirds are the culprits here - I got some enviromesh a couple of years back to protect the calabrese - it has found a new home draped over the currant bushes (I only have 3 - one blackcurrant and two redcurrants). So far I have caught a couple of hoverflies (released) and there are loads of greenfly underneath it - yuk!
