AJuff
I hate May as it's back to report writing time again!!! I hate writing them at home in MY time. I hate ignoring the kids, not going out in the garden when it's nice, not knitting on an evening, feeling bad when i go out as I should be writing. Anyway this year I thought I'd start writing before half term . . so after tonight it's heads down. I'm sure this forum will be a welcome break inbetween bouts of writing. Cate in NZ
Not being a teacher May used to be my favourite month, late spring/ early summer, blue skies, warm sun, everything still green and lush, nagging children to revise for exams, hubby's never-ending hayfever, OK, perhaps May wasn't so good really on reflection. But now May's the start of winter, dark evenings, frosty mornings and rain like you've never seen it ...at least day time temperatures are still pretty warm Good luck with all that report writing....and good luck too for the students who'll be receiving them
Guest
I think we've done most of the reports now. But next week is year 8 parents evening. I wouldn't say it's disorganised BUT they havn't given out our appointment sheets yet and it's NEXT WEDNESDAY - which of course means I won't even see most of my year 8 classes before hand to make appointments. And I can't skip out early 1 because they have a stupid rule (one of many) that you aren't allowed to leave before a certain time. and 2 because only me and the NQT teach year 8 so it wouldn't be fair to leave her there by herself. Oh and as if that wasn't POINTLESS enough, year 7 parents evening is THE LAST WEEK OF TERM. How ridiculous is that??? For most of the kids we will be saying "yep they worked well/didn't work well this year and they aren't in my class next year!!!
