Chicks - do I need grit?

Recommended Posts

Assuming any of my !eggblue! hatch on Friday or over next weekend :D Do I need anything to feed them other than chick crumb (know about suggestions of chopped up egg or spring onion to encourage them to eat).

Do I need chick flint - not sure at which point they will need to take grit? They will have access to a bit of grass in run when mum takes them out.

I've put a little bit in with mine - they are outside on the grass and chomping clover and other assorted goodies that mum digs up for them. She makes them have a little and they do as they are told. Wish I was her! It is likely that they would pick up some grit from the soil anyway.
