Ive been searching high and low - i cannot seem to find somewhere in or around london where i can purchase a couple of chickens? if anyone knows anywhere please let me know!!

Hi ya, give omlet a ring, they can give you a list of breeders near you. i'm in london and i'm getting my chickens from southmead poultry, it's in leatherhead which according to google is only 45 mins away.

hi - thanks for that i will have a look and also will ring omlet, i noticed a few in surrey but as im north west i have to travel across london - thought there might be something more north or west of london - might have to do though - also finding it had to find miss pepperpot and G-ranger - may have to compromise

The pepperpot and gingernut ranger go by different names depending on who's selling them, blackrocks, goldlines, warrens are all similar.

There is a breeders directory in practical poultry magazine but my knowledge of London is zero- if you tell me what area you want I'll have a look see if there is anything listed.

you are right london is usually a zero - i am north west so anywhere out of london in that direction north or west - otherwise southmead it is!

Is thornes too far from you? (Depends how North-west London you are I guess) But it's just up the A1.

I went to Thornes with my daughter last Sunday. They have a really nice set-up there.

 

Pure breeds and bantams will not be available until the end of August apparently.

 

It is best to ring before travelling to check availability of hybrid layers.

 

While you're there, ask to speak to Frank. What he doesn't know about chickens...

Yep they sounded quite good on the phone, they will be getting many hybrids in next week which will be ready on Friday, he had a long list of whats available and I did not need to order. Will speak to Frank thanks for the tip!!!

yes they did, a long list so i cant remember all of them - they have bluebells red/white/black stars and many others i couldnt keep up with him on the phone.

they will be coming in on wed so he said the best day to come would be friday

 

give them a call they will give you a list - will let you know how i get on!
