Very sorry to hear about your chickens, that's awful.

 

What I would say is that while Foxwatch is a deterrent, it's not an absolute prevention of foxes - so even if it had been working, there's no guarantee that it would have stopped a hungry and determined fox. I still think they are good, mine has put the fox off coming into the garden but I wouldn't rely on it totally.

 

I hope you'll feel able to get some more chickens once your run is all secure.

I'm so sorry to hear about your girls - a similar thing has just happened to me. I had my ladies for a few years, free ranging until dusk when they tucked themselves up for the night. All I had to do was close the door. Well all has been well up until thursday evening, when I left it too late(9.30)I heard my poor girls but couldn't get to them on time and the fox had struck. I am finding it hard to come to terms with as I am solely to blame!I fully understand how you feel ,but I am glad to have found this forum for all the support from it's wonderful members. Sending you a big cuddle and my shared sadness :wall:
