Where would you recommend to get bantam eggs from?

Recommended Posts

It appears I have that broody I wanted after all. One of the ex batts has gone today, so I want some bantam eggs, the places I looked at are. Merrydale Poultry and Chalkhill Poultry, anyone know if these places are any good and how quickly they get the eggs out to you.

I really dont want to go down the ebay route if I can help it as I have heard so many bad things.

unfortunatly not once they start to crow, you have seen my garden, I think the neighbours would be unimpressed.

I have a friend who will re home any to his allotment for me, or do the other but I dont need to think about that as long as I know they are well looked after in life.

Npt sure my little car could take a trip to storrs, last time my friend went there it started her labour off. :D

they have the eglu. or do you meen further seperate accomodation, as in anohter extra house?

Would she hurt them if she is left in with them too long?

She would have to be in further separate accommodation with them, as the other hens would attack them in such a limited space.

realised I havent explained this too well, she is in tyhe eglu alone, the other ex batts have now moved in with the big girls (at last). so it would be just her and babies in the eglu. The main thing I was worried about was reintroducing her to the flock, I thought maybe she would stay with the babies in the eglu.

What are peoples experiences of re introducing a broody after she has raised her chicks?
