Does anyone have anymore ideas on this. One of my gignernuts has started eating her own eggs I have tried blowing eggs to distract her but she can tell the difference and chucks them out of the nesting box! This week we fitted a bumper bit but this isnt working either she can still crack the eggs even with it on. She is free range over about 2 acres so diet is varied she also has layers mash and access to grit I am at my wits end with her

I think filling an egg with mustard can sometimes do the trick . Or you could put pot eggs or golf balls in.

You could try making the nesting box very dark so that she can't see them.

Have tried all of that does anyone know if the rollaway nest box inserts can be adapted to fit an eglu??

oh sorry, just started another thread on this topic!! - I'm not very good at searching it seems.

I got some nest box inserts for the cube, which I did try but ended up with 3 broken eggs, so have shelved that idea for now.
