ill chicken

Recommended Posts

I was told one of mine had this a couple of weeks ago ( though I'm sure she hasn't ) it's when the contents of the crop ferment - maybe a fungal type infection. I was told to dose her with 5mls of live natural yoghurt 3 times a day, most chooks will happily eat the yoghurt themselves, but I have the one who doesn't like the stuff so I used a plastic syringe.

I understand that you need to empty the crop first by gently holding your chicken with her head down and then give them an antifungal like Daktarin that you can buy over the counter. But wait and take the advice of one of the experts who will be along. :)
