dancing cloud
Bless them, they'll soon be enjoying their new lives . They must think they've been very good girls and gone to little chookie heaven . While there are still ex-batts looking for homes, they will always be my choice too. I've had my first six for a whole year today (post in Celebrations if you're interested in the pics) and every now and then let people see the pics from their first weekend to remind them of the appalling way battery hens are treated . Many of my regular egg-buyers have met the hens too and shared their progress - they won't be buying battery eggs again!
tara
Hi louise l cant believe its been so long.Ive now got 9 hens in a new walk in run and 7 ducks including 2 ducklings.I really enjoy being in the garden because of them being there You have 2 hens hows it going with them ? you have been so good staying with 2 lve always wanted rescued hens and now ive got a growing flock of them today they have learnt that straw feels great and you can sit and lay in it.I opened the eglu door while cheecky me was in there and she did not mind at all she just could not get enough of the straw.Ive put a poster in the back of my car so people can see what there doing when buying cheap eggs and cakes am keeping my fingers crossed that l can make some people more aware. They have also been listening to the birds singing in the sky and there little faces was a piture
Guest
Hi Tara We have stuck to just the two because of lack of space - but we dream of winning the lottery and buying a big garden so we could have lots! We would never be without them now! Louise X
