Help! One of our white star has a swelling on the bottom of one of her feet.

There is no black scab on it, though. I'd noticed she'd had her head tucked under her wing occasionally for the past couple of days, but thought nothing of it, as they often do this for no reason.

She is still laying, eating and drinking normally. What do you think? Bumble foot or not?

I've bathed her legs and feet in warm soapy water now and rubbed a bit of tea tree cream on the swelling, in the hope it may offer some comfort.

It could be, or she could have a foreign body in it.

 

Is she weight bearing?

 

Is the swelling hot and red?

 

Might be worth a trip to the vet to be on the safe side.

Well that's the thing, she is weight bearing, not limping at all, the swelling isn't hot or red either.

All you can do is keep an eye on it then. It might be just the way she is.

Could be. It is quite large though, so I think you could be right about a 'foreign body'.

I'll see how she goes. If she looks in pain, I need to find a vet.
