toonfamily
I always wanted to grow squash. so I purchased 2 packets and now have about 15 seedlings. do i need to plant these in the ground on the allotment or put them in bigger pots in the plastic greenhouse(not much room left in there at the mo) I have some in the coldframe just coming through. but I am unsure as to whether they can grow on an allotment without any cover. would be great if they could just grow there as there is plenty of room, i only have a small green plastic greenhouse and the tomotoes take up most of the room. Can't seem to find much information on them in my allotment books. Can anyone here enlighten me, it would be very much apreciated. I picked my first crop of lettuce today but they were covered in greenfly - I like to share my produce with work colleugues but chose not to share these. Hope it gets better. I see my broad beans are coming along nicely.
C&T
Have a look down the page - for another discussion called "squash". (Would post a link - but not sure how!! ) Got all sorts of info on there which might help! I'm a novice Squash grower too, and a bit worried about the space I (don't) have right now! Ain't Nobody Here
Here you go . I've got 4 seedlings too - in small pots just now but I'm wondering when/where to put them too . Someone said they were trying one in a pot with a wigwam thingy so I may try one like that and the rest in the veg bed. I'll lock this topic now as we can continue on the other one .
