BocBoc
Lmao came to the kitchen door last night just as I was preparing dinner - her toe was bleeding and it was leaving red spots on the doorstep. After reading just yesterday about chooks pecking at red, I swooped her up, popped her in a cat basket and sent the OH to Asda for some blue food colouring. After we'd had dinner, we set up the operating table () and set about cleaning her toe - it looks like she's split the nail. I dabbed her injury with cotton wool soaked in boiled water then dipped a soft paintbrush in the food colouring and painted her toe. The bleeding had stopped but just wanted to make sure there would be no pecking. She went back into the garden and was free ranging with no bother - the other two girls showed no interest (phew) and all is well today. Thanks to Scotty for his post on a similar subject earlier this month which helped my panicking over what to do!!
Egluntyne
If it starts bleeding again, clean it in the ordinary way and then rub it with some soap. It will stop the flow.
