How few chickens can I have in a cube?

Recommended Posts

Have you thought about some pure breeds?

I love brahmas & cochins.

Just had a look... not really a fan of these! I don't like their legs! They look like they are wearing those hairy moon boots that were popular in the late eighties!

I like the ones that have legs like the ones that you see frozen in Chinese supermarkets.

Remeber that eggs can take on the taste of the things that they have eaten so too much garlic may not be a good idea especially if you want to use them in cakes!

Orpingtons are big fluffy hens but have non feathered legs. Pure breeds tend to stop laying over winter.

I believe White Stars are smaller and can be flighty. My Amber is cream/white and I would call her bomb proof. Gets under my feet mind!:D

That reminds me i must pop over to Jantys to see her lovely WIR and take a handbag bid enough to smuggle Kylie, Delia and popcorn out!

You wouldn't need a large bag for Popcorn.

:D

Nope she would fit in my pocket :D so that leaves more roon in the handbag!

I had a purple eglu, it is a gorgeous colour. I would have had a purple cube but didn't want to repeat myself and now i love my orange cube. Oh, and i haven't named it

If it's orange you could call it Dale... after Dale Winton!

We have four chickens in our (cube blue) . We were lucky in getting our cube without ordering, it was a return (couldn't find any thing wrong with it). Blue fits in nicely in a garden, and it doesn't let the light in.

If you want a cube quickly ask if they have a cancelled order or a return, otherwise you'll have to wait a few weeks.
