How do you support the feeders in a walk in run?

Recommended Posts

At the moment I have my grub and glug feeders sitting on the floor of my walk in run. The problem is that the water and pellets get covered in wood chippings when the chickens are doing their scratching.

I can put a horizontal wooden beam up, but have you got any suggestions for attaching the feeders to it?

Tony (aviaries4u) built me four feed hangers for the run. I have also left the skirts attached to my cubes to hang the feeders on.

As you can see, there is a cube with the run still attached in the walk in run. I also hang the feeders and drinkers on that.

I used the Ikea utensil rails. I too posted a question on how to attatch the feeders and it was Redwing who suggested I use the Ikea rails. I have ordered two and they were about £2.93 each. They work a treat; almost as if they were designed for glugs and grub feeders :)

When I got my WIR from Aviaries4U, Tony included a proto-type feed holder he was developing.

Others on the forum have them now too, and I think they have gone into full production as they are listed on the "Chicken Extras" part of the A4U site.
