Not sure where to put this so sorry mods.

 

Whilst driving home through Ironbridge on Thursday at 5pm ish I spotted a hen walking along the pavement. She was looking interested in the road which was worrying.

 

After knocking at the nearest house, we caught her and I have tried to find her owners without success. So if someone in Ironbridge has lost a hen -she is fit and well and with me. So please pm me and I will return her to you. She seemed very hungry and was wandering in no particular direction. The kind lady at the house said none of her neighbours had chickens otherwise I would not have put her in the car.

 

She is continuing to lay so am happy to keep her but worry that someone is broken hearted.

 

I am going to put an ad in the local paper but am keeping her description back so any prospective owner has to describe her and she does not become sunday lunch for someone dodgy.

 

Surprsingly my husband took the news of the addition very well (not his usual response)and when she laid an egg yesterday he seemed quite chuffed.

Advert under "FOUND" went in the paper and no-one has claimed her so it looks like I may have my chicken of fate!

 

She is a slightly manky looking ex batt who is growing her feathers so hopefully in a few weeks she will look at lot better, but she is lovely and I am already rather fond of her. She stood up to our bully wyandotte successfully so she has earnt her place.
