Help no eggs!

Recommended Posts

Help! :? Had my two chicks from Omlet a couple of months ago. The one started laying the second week and has been fine ever since. The other one, Gingernut, started laying about the fourth week and then stopped a week ago. She seems perfectly fine, running around as normal and eating loads. As chicken keeping is new to me, am wondering is this just normal?

No, I've searched the garden for eggs, to be honest we have a fox hanging around so we don't let them out unless someone is out there with them at the moment, and the garden isn't huge, so I guess we would know if she'd gone in the bushes to lay. They have some greens and sweetcorn sometimes late afternoon, but apart from that pellets and corn.

Is she laying eggs in the garden instead of in the nesting box? :D

Is she having too many treats?

It might be worth confining them to the run and making sure they eat nothing but pellets until mid afternoon.

I did think may be it was a change in weather, must be sensitive! She seems OK otherwise and eating well so hopefully she'll start again soon.

One of mine stopped for about a fortnight when the weather turned hotter, I started to get worried and then she started ago, so if she's acting her usual way, I wouldn't be too concerned.
