Gooseberry Question...

Recommended Posts

A couple of years ago I got my Gooseberry plant, but this is the first year I am going to get anything like a decent harvest (last year was about 5 gooseberries, thanks to the birds... )

This year, they have all been covered up to protect from wild birds as well as the chucks, and I have a lot on there :D

They are a red variety, and half of each fruit has now turned red. Is this sufficient to then make jam with does anyone think? (Strawberry and Gooseberry Jam)

Away for the next couple of weekends, and don't want to lose them, and have some time this afternoon to get the pan out...

Need reasurance - or to be told to stop being impatient.... :(

Well, from my little bush, I had nearly a pound of gooseberries :D

Added them to 2 pounds of half price Strawberries, and have made some delicious Jam!

(Had some of the s"Ooops, word censored!"ings on my toast this morning!! Yum!! Rest will be put in the cupboard for a while...)

Parents will be upset.... I had no small empty jars, and am refusing to give away a large jar, so they aren't going to see any of it!! :notalk::shameonu:
