Do any of you own any Nikon digital compact cameras that have stop frame and/or timelapse features? I tried getting in touch with Nikon for advice and they were about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

 

 

I have a few Nikon S9s which have both the timelapse and stop frame movie features.

I also have a few of the L14s which have stop frame.

 

I use them for Year 8 animation work at school as it's so easy to do all the animation in camera. I want to get some more so that the children can work in smaller groups but I can't seem to locate more up to date models.

 

For example, one website that I looked at today said that the S550 had the timelapse feature but another website said that it didn't.

 

Do any of you own cameras (any make) that feature stop frame or timelapse modes?

I'm not sure if it would be more hassle but you can get software that does it and you can just use a cheap webcam

I know...I do have the software but it is far easier for the children at school to have cameras that do it all. It's very satisfying for them to see their animations instantly. I just wondered if anyone knew of cameras that had this feature. I am winning a few Nikons on e-bay at the moment.
