Phosphorus
Well hopefully Gemma (broody hen) is successfully back with her old mates. Poor thing has been pacing the eglu run whenever she needs to lay an egg, sees the other girls out or wants to go to bed She was still being great with the chicks but she obviously missed the Cube and WIR. Anyway having let her freerange the otherside of the omlet netting to the other girls for a couple of days, without any further fight between her and Charlotte, I decided to brave it today and let her in with them on the same side of netting Watched them for hours complete with kid's baseball bat and water pistol primed and ready. Only had to use the water once, apart from that any pecks were just the normal "get in line ones" - Gemma was always bottom of pecking order poor thing. Anyway put them all back in run together with lots of corn on the floor of run and they have now all gone to bed together. Chicks put themselves to bed in eglu and have all snuggled up - they are all 6 weeks so hopefully will be okay now alone. I have left cube door open so Gemm can escape to run if she needs to but haven't heard any more squabbles. Better get up at 4am just to check Otherwise so far so good - very happy chook mum

Phosphorus
One happy flock of 7 this morning, they seem to have welcomed her back she was a bit perturbed when I let the chicks out into the eglu run, which she can see from the WIR. I've told her she can't have it both ways My possible lavender cockerel seems to have taken over leadership of the chicks already
