Must be mad
Can not believe it. OH and I went to collect 8 ex-batts and when we got there she had extras, so OH could not resist a few more, so we came home with 12. We have split our WIR in half and are keeping them separate from our other girls for a while. They settled well in the last night (with help to get in) and slowly ventured out this morning. OH has made a ramp over the steps, until they get to grips with them. When I got home this evening found 3 eggs on the floor, I do realise that they normally lay where they are standing. saracook31
Well done you!! If I could fit another 12 in I'd jump at the chance! I adore my ex batts, after a while they started to see me as mother hen and follow me round everywhere! Its very satisfying knowing your doing something good for the poor little things! Hope the eggs keep on coming! Mine have only now just started to all lay in the nest box, had them since Feb!
The Dogmother
Congratulations! Try a pot egg in the nest to encourage them.
