The "vacation condo" without the cube attached. The cube and run attach to the doorway on the left side. It's open for them all the time while they are ranging, but I only attach the cube and confine them when we're away for the weekend or vacation.

 

This used to be a potting shed, so there are 2 levels of "counters" that the girls love to perch on.

 

 

My new feeder. It's made of 4 inch PVC pipe and a 60 degree elbow.

 

The trough part of the feeder. I just put a little feed in there today to introduce it to the girls.

 

The feeder is refillable from the outside- so my neighbor doesn't have to break in to add food while we're away.

 

So what do you think of the set up?

The girls have really grown, I bet they don't roost on the cube partition now do they?

Oh yes, I feel a couple of ideas to steal here! Like the fact that the neighbours don't have to open the door and love the pipe feeder - defo copy that one!

Nope, no roosting on the cube partition any more! Now they all try to cram into the nest box together Usually one roosts in the circle entry to the box and the other 4 snuggle inside

Are those cable ties as leg rings?

Quite clever, although not sure what would happen if their legs grow?

I just trim the cable ties off and put a new one on the opposite leg. I've only had to do it 3 times so far since we started. Works out well for us.
