Ain't Nobody Here
The Directory of Mobile Phone numbers goes live next week. I was sent an email about this at work. I don't know how likely it is that our mobile phone numbers will be used by anyone but it's worth looking into. (I've just used it to search for mine and OH's names but it can't find us .) This was the advice given by my employer: All numbers including those belonging to children will be open to cold calling, which is quite a concern !! If you want to avoid such texts to your mobile, you can register ex directory using the link below. It takes just a few seconds, but you will need your mobile close at hand as they text a code to you during the process which you have to enter. To remove your number go here: http://www.118800.co.uk/ and go to the Ex-Directory part at the top
Charlottechicken
I'm sure there's already been a thread about this?? Anyway, as far as I know the company don't give out your number, they just connect people so have to ask if you want to take the call. Personally I would not register as ex directory with them as they probably don't have the correct info and you'll just give it to them. You can register with the Telephone Preference Service and the Fax Preference Service, this makes it an offence to cold call you (I think).
