Donald and Daffy have now really settled in, waddling around the garden, in the pond, in the house , flying on to the bench and going asleep

 

Here's some pics...you can pick them up quite easily now but they strecth their necks out as far as possible

It is lovely having ducks in the garden and there are rumours of 2 Indian runner girls this summer *hopefully*

Well, we heard that the girls are the noisy ones so steered well clear of them and got these two, not a sound! just a gentle quack, it's lovely.

 

We are looking in a couple of indian runner girls, are these noisy? Any other comments?

Hi tom my indian runners are not that noisy unless something spooks them my khakis are worse the only thing i would say is 2 drakes with 2 females may be to much attention for the girls but maybe ok as your boys are calls which are a lot smaller than indian runners leanne.

My boys are call ducks but the indian runners will be free-range in the garden and the calls are in a covered run, they would only meet sometimes in the afternoon.

That would be fine i love indian runners they are so friendly i got mine when they were about 4 weeks old so we have tamed them they eat out your hands and if i cant see them i just whistle and they come running leanne.

We would love to get some that young, they have some at a farm near us however we do need 2 girls so I'm guessing you can't sex them? what age can you?

Hi tom they can be vent sexed at about a day old ask the farm if they do this if not i can normally tell when mine are about 7/8 weeks old but if you really want females i would see if you can get them from someone who can sex them you dont want to end up with boys and sorry i dont have a camera at the moment i would love to show you my ducks can you use a mobile phone camera thanks leanne.

Thanks will email them now about vent sexing, they are £15 each and have just gone outside, is this expensive?

I have 1 white drake called big bird a white female called daisy brown female called buttons and a mallard looking drake called sir francis and £15.00 pound each is ok i think and i will get my daughters phone and see what i can do about photos leanne.
