Minky
My other half's Mum served this up the other day and it was a) YUUUUUM and b) so, so simple: • Line the bottom of a bowl with slices of chocolate swiss roll. • Pour a tin of cherry pie filling on top of it. • Pour a tin of custard on top of that. • Whip up some double cream and cover the custard. • Decorate with chocolate sprinkles. Not clever, or healthy, but lovely!
craftyhunnypie
Mmmmm - I'd also add in some kirsch. Emma.x
Guest
We do something similar as black forest pudding. Cook a chocolate sponge in the bowl (pyrex is good for that) tip a tin of cherry pie filing in and pile on the whipped cream. Easy peasy dessert! LJ's Chooks
I use chocolate chip brownies, sliced with raspberry jam on them, then frozen cherries or fruit and rasps, loads of booze... brandy, cherry brandy and rum works well... then custard, then cream whipped with ameretto in it ..... Yumm!!! Never failed to wow... in fact my mother in law who was the queen of triffle now refuses to make triffle for me and asked me for MY recipe!!!!!!
