Alis girls
We have 2 cats - ex rescue of about 5 yrs old. My ginger tom is a frisky active fella but his sister a tabby is a lazy. I know cats have a reputation for sleeping a lot but the main problem is she doesnt seem to groom herself Thanksfully she is not long haired - we are on vets advice combing her daily. She has a lovely silky coat but her undercarriage as my OH calls it is like velcrose and has everything stuck to it The vet has no ideas and I do apply EPO as she had dry skin. Teeth are ok - he didnt suggest blood tests - and his opinion is that she is just lazy. OH suggested we get her a treadmill Joking aside - any ideas? we chuck her out into the garden but she just finds a shady nook and goes to sleep Anyone else had a lazy cat would like advice
chickencam
Cats do vary a lot in their activity levels. My old cat Toffee was always out and about and would sleep outdoors whenever the weather was fit, whereas my 2 rescue cats that we have now are much more lazy especially Scamp, but she does groom herself well enough. Ziggy is a bit more active particularly in the evenings and she is a bit OCD about her grooming. My mum has an old siamese male who has never cleaned himself very well and now she has to sponge him down a few times a week. I think it is much like people some are more bothered about personal hygiene than others
Chucky Mama
You could try putting some of her daily feed (presuming she is eating dried food) in a treat ball.
