wilkole
Reggie is self plucking and looks so ill. We have checked for mites and are going to worm them all today even though the vet said in the week that she was fine. She is the only one doing it and it isnt the others doing it for her as we have watched her all morning doing it. We can see her skin and she is only 10 months old. Please help as we are scared we are going to lose her.
Ain't Nobody Here
You don't think she could be broody? If not, perhaps you could spray her with Ukadex? I've never used it so am no expert .
wilkole
She isnt sitting down a lot of fluffing up which I have been told are tell tale signs of being broody. Might put some anti peck on her tonight to see if that helps, never heard of ukadex, what is it?
Egluntyne
Ukadex is a vile smelling anti pecking product, available online.
Minky
Where is she plucking? Just wondering as one of my girls started plucking her tummy and got quite bald from it - I checked with the vet and he said sometimes they do it to get more skin contact with their eggs and keep them as warm as possible. She eventually stopped on her own, but it went on for a good few weeks. Otherwise I'd suggest a bumper bit!
wilkole
She is plucking her back, we had to take her bumper bit off as it was too big for her beak so vet advised us to remove it and bantum ones are too small. Have ordered a poultry saddle which should be here tomorrow so hoping that will work.
