-sarahjayne
So we've had our girls for a month now, and Martha, Esmee and Rhonda are all wonderful and will allow us to pick them up, stroke them etc. Esmee will even jump on my lap and sit on me when i sit in the garden But Evie, our Black Rock will not tolerate any stroking and certainly not picking up! Esmee the tamest of our girls is a black rock too but she's fine with it all. When we try to stroke evie or pick her up or check her over, she baaauuuks and flaps in the air and runs away I honestly can't think of any more we can do to make her tamer, it would be lovely to have all 4 tame. Shes a beautiful girl and it just seems such a shame.. Any help would be wonderful.
teri
will she take feed from your hand? try having her out on her own and offer her some special treats. start by chucking a bit a few feet away and gradualy bring her to you using the food when she gets to eating out of your hand you can stroke her. she may back off when you touch her just repeat the process. little and often is best when you are successful at stroking her while she eats try stroking her and rewarding her with a treat afterwards. this method worked for me with one of my sussex who i adopted at quite a late age, it took about a week but she now tollerates me, my kids and even the dog hope this helps good luck teri
