Happy chickens!
One of my girls was ill a few weeks ago, I thought we might lose her, but she recovered, although stopped laying for a bit. Now she is laying, but we are getting very thin shelled eggs from her - not softies, but very fragile and easily broken. If I get some soluble calcium, will it be bad for the rest of the girls, whose eggs are fine (touch wood). They already have mixed grit available. Someone has suggested that I 'take her off lay' by only feeding her corn, but this would mean keeping her separate, which isn't very practical for me at the moment. Thanks. sjp
you could try adding a bit to some treats and give them to her on her own. its the method i use for medication
Happy chickens!
Thanks sjp, but it's soluble I think. Haven't had much success with syringing either - I get very wet
Ain't Nobody Here
You could add it to a small bowl of pellets or something and make sure only she gets it?
