Willow
I got my females from a lady in High Wycombe but I think that is too far for you.
broni.jones
thank you. i just put that location into rac route planner, but its 70 miles away. DOH! a bit too far but thanks again!
Lesley
Can you not get any more from the breeder you used before?
broni.jones
i'm not sure that i want to go back there. he was nice enough. when we got there he had two boxed up for me. my other half checked them over & they seemed healthy. i didn't like the fact that he didn't invite us in or show us other birds or thier living quaters. it seemed so unlike my other experiences of buying birds. normally poultry sellers that i have met love to show off all of thier stock & take the time to have a good chat & a cup of tea. if i'm honest alarm bells did go off in my head but i was so desperate to get my lonley fella some girls! am i being a bit picky? Lesley
No, not at all, I was just wondering We had a similar experience when we went to buy our Cream Legbar hen - we were told to wait and the man (a top breeder of CLs) brought one out for us. I wasn't too happy about it. The CL hen has been a superb hen....... but I still wouldn't go back there for more. Good Luck with your search
broni.jones
hello, i went to the salisbury southern counties auction yesterday. they had a special poultry event. i brought 5 lovely healthy POL quail hens for £18. i was very naughty and also brought 3 welsummer pullets too! it was a great morning, loads of wierd & wonderfull birds, many bargins to be had too. worth a look! my poor mail quail has so much tail to chase he is beside himself! problem now solved! best wishes
