how often?

Recommended Posts

i just wondered how often hens should lay :?: mine are all over the place at the moment. scarlet seems to have weekends off, skye has had 7 days off, ebony lays most days, and tia has been on baytril and only laid twice in two weeks ( i think it was her  ) the sizes of the eggs varies too, skye's have got smaller , the other's seem to vary between 35g and 45g.

i love my girls as pets and the eggs are a bonus but i have a waiting list of friends who are dying to have some eggs, but because we haven't had many my twins won't let me give any away

Same problem :(

Our 4 girls arrived in June 2008 and we enjoyed 4 eggs daily wef November 2008.

We adopted 3 hens in April 2009 and the egg production since then has fallen considerably. When first introduced, we used bumper bits while they sorted themselves out.

We are currently blessed with an average of only 4 eggs daily ... :?

With the exception of Betty Bare Bum (fresh out of ze cooler) there is no sign of broodiness.

One hen is showing signs of moult, the others are in full feather, combs and tails fully upright.

What's happened ?
