Hi, I have quite a large strawberry plant that has been producing well so far this summer, but i read somewhere that the 2nd year fruits are best to eat - although my 2 year old didn't mind them ! - but what i would like to know is how do i keep the plant alive over the winter months ? Anyone have any experience with this ?

if there in the ground just leave them to it if there in pots make sure they don't get waterlogged or they'll stand a chance of frezeing but don't let the dry out either

The leaves will die back and go brown. I wait and then trim them back to the ground.

 

I leave mine out to the elements and hope for the best

i leave mine outside all year too, they are growing in a large pot. They get bigger and better every year

forgot to add pot a few runners up so you get more plants for next year also strawberry plants should be replaced after 3 years
