Sorry it sounds bad :( I understand that the blue comb and breathing problems are due to not being able to expand chest properly either from fluid in abdomen or chest or an infection in lungs. I think it could be heart failure but I don't know only saying from what I've read in books and on here. I don't know of anything that can be done to help at home. If it's a chest infection the vet would give antibiotics. If you are lucky antibiotics may not cost too much. Perhaps you could get an estimated bill if you decide to go.

I don't know but for other things that can make her so poorly, I don't know if there is much a vet can do to treat it. Because you say she's been like this a while it sounds more like a fluid collection in her abdomen or lungs causing pressure. :(

Not a lot of help but just want to say I'm sorry, it must be a horrid way to be. :(

Could be anything and she does sound poorly bless her. The only way to get a diagnosis is by a vet I'm afraid. The purple comb could indicate a heart problem  , is she eating & drinking and doing normal chicken movements or is she hunched all of the time?

Does she sound rattly/wheezy? (if so could be respiratory problem requiring antibiotics)

Has she been wormed recently?
