chooksy
Hiya, I bought an 18wk old Araucana and Cuckoo Maran about 1st August, so they're now approx 20wks old. I think Araucana stop laying over the winter, but not sure about Maran. Do you think that they may not start laying until Spring? At the same time, I bought two hybrids, a Columbine and White Hybrid. The white hybrids comb has really coloured up recently, when do you think she'll start? The columbines comb is still small and fairly pale, how long should it take before she starts laying? I'm dying to know whether shes part of the 80% or 20%?!??!? Impatient, moi!?!?! Many thanks in advance! H x
Redwing
If they are all the same age the hybrids will start laying sooner The two purebred bird may well start laying this year, there is still a couple of months of decent daylight time left but they do normally start laying later than hybrids Fingers crossed! Yup - fingers crossed! The Leghorn Hybrid's comb is really quite red so really hoping for a egg from her soon. Columbine is slowly catching up. We have two other new hybrids now also which I think are a similar age so hoping for some more eggs very soon!
