Elderly cat breathing difficulties when purring

Well I am totally and utterly confused

 

Obviously, as you all know, we thought we had red mite in our chook house. When I discovered them they weren't red which I didn't understand but thought nothing of it. Well we have been getting rid of them slowly but it is working BUT, while I cleaned out the ducks holiday run (a rabbit ark with a cardboard box to sleep in even though they never used it!) I found a large cluster of red specks of dirt moving around in one corner of the box that looked like the pictures of red mite I have seen.

 

However, these didn't look like what we have in the coop. the things in the coop are about 2mm long, whitey grey with a black line on them and look a bit like a spider with a fat round body. These have never been red even when they were in a house with hens. These things move about during the day a lot and jump onto you.

 

So what are they??? Obviously the things in the duck run were red mite so what are the creatures in the coop

The things in the coop certainly aren't red mite Tom but I've no idea what they are! Red mite are soooooooooo small, more like pencil dot size. Any chance of a pic?

Could they be chicken fleas? Not a brilliant picture but the best I could find.

OOOOOHHH they look disgusting , how do you get rid of those nasty things..

 

errhh itching thinkng about them!!!

 

OH gonna do mad , it costs a fortune to keep the cats and dogs flea bagged and wormified, oops now the chickie girls too, oops
