debbier Posted August 18, 2009 Share Posted August 18, 2009 I'm wondering what to do with my eglu run + converter now my chooks are in their WIR. What have others done with theirs: sell it (is there a market for second hand runs?) or keep it just in case? Ain't Nobody Here Posted August 18, 2009 Share Posted August 18, 2009 I sold the converter but kept the rest for putting over my raised beds . I put netting over that and bulldog-clipped it on . I'll soon be using bits of it to split the walk in run for introductions . (I also used it for some visiting bunnies recently - who dug a hole in my new lawn .) Olly Posted August 20, 2009 Share Posted August 20, 2009 There is a market for second hand runs, but I'd keep it - I actually bought a second-hand one, in order to create an introduction area for a new chicken. You never know when you'll need a separate area, and you might either be able to use it inside your WIR or attach it to the side or something. Seagazer Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 I've used two sections with the skirting bit inside my run to keep the glug and grub on it. Handily its where there is a channel in the floor of my run so it keeps my girls safe until we can concrete it in. I did that! I also sold an Eglu run recently and although was very happy with the sale to a fellow forum member and its gone to a good home I regretted it instantly as now I have a poorly hen to house I've sorted it out now though so all is well but the Eglu run would have been ideal. I'd still like to use the run end (with the door) to let the newbies have access to the rest of the run when the oldies are out of the way but haven't tried that yet!
