my poor scarlet has had her lovely fluffy knickers plucked bare by the other girls she was fine yesterday so it's happened this morning. i've been out with a water pistol to stop them but i can't do that all day, they've made one of her legs bleed so i've sprayed purple spray on that ( and on os by accident ) is there anything i can do to stop them until i can get some anti- pecking spray? also whats the best stuff to get? i'm so upset because she had beautiful feathers and now looks like an ex-batt

Do you have any tea tree oil? You could mix that with water as it is antiseptic and also tastes vile.

thank you for the suggestion but i don't have any i've ordered some ukadex but don't know what to do til it arrives. the others won't leave her alone and i'm on my way out, so i'm expecting a totally bald chook by the time i get back

Any vaseline? That would make them think twice about pulling her feathers.

i have got vaseline and i've got vicks, was thinking the smell of vicks might put them off but not sure if it would hurt if they ate it?

I have heard of vicks being used before, but just a small amount. At least it will clear their nostrils out

i covered her in vaseline before i went out and it seems to have deterred them now they've started on Tia! they were all tugging at her wing feathers why would they start doing this to each other i've checked them for lice and mites etc and found nothing. the only thing thats changed is i started them on flubenvet yesterday but i wouldn't have thought that had anything to do with it
