missuscluck
I have got rather a lot of eating apples this year. I have got some in storage but what to do with the rest? I usually would do jams and chutneys with cooking apples but Im wondering if anyone has any experiance of making jams or chutneys using 'eaters' instead of 'cookers'? If so what were the results? majorbloodnock
How's about a drop of cider. Best use I know to which you can put a glut of apples....
Guest
peel, core, slice and freeze. That's what I'm doing, there's an eater overhanging our lottie and I'm expcting 2 sheds any moment now with a sack full! i made chutney last year with eaters and preferred it as they don't disintegrate like cookers. aldi are doing mangos for 29p so i'm doing mango chutney, which has some apples in. Blackrocksrock
We juiced the eaters - strain through a muslin bag to clear the juice and froze in small juice bottles for this spring - it was really nice.
