Morning all.

Well, went to let the girls out this morning and found that one of them had laid an egg!!!!

However, it was broken and had fallen through the bars . When I picked it up, it felt quite soft.

The girls have only just started free-ranging, so perhaps aren't picking up enough grit. Should I scatter some in their run??

 

Please help. We are so close.... lol

Don't worry . The first eggs can be a bit erratic - it should settle down very soon .

Mine also laid a few softies in the beginning.

If the problem persists, try some limestone flour in with their food. This will harden up the shells.

Problem sorted!! This morning, a perfect egg had been laid in the nest box - 45g and intact!!! It was delicious Thank you
