I don't think I will ever buy lemon squash again!

I have just tried my first batch of Lemon Cordial (currently got a second batch sterilising in the bottles). I made it at the beggining of july and have resisted trying it until today.

 

When I made it I didnt have any white sugar, so used a mix of unrefined caster sugar and light brown sugar. This has resulted in a caramel coloured cordial but it tastes absolutly fab (if I do say so myself :oops: ) really zingy with lemon and SO refreshing.

 

I really dont think I will ever buy lemon squash again :D

This is the one I used this morning. :D I did add a bit of citric acid to mine though, keeps it clearer, IMO. Other than that, I just did as states, squeezed the lemons, measured and worked out how much sugar to use. I got about half a litre of juice, and because I prefer my squash on the sharp side, I added about 550g of sugar. I also did the sterilising in the bottle step too. :D
