For the last few days Betty and Gladys have been attacking Rita, literally launching themselves at her, pecking her and pulling her feathers. Gladys has always given her the odd peck as she's the boss but Betty never did. I can't understand why they've suddenly started doing it. I'm at work all day so goodness knows what they get up to. No blood has been drawn but it still looks awful and Rita looks quite scared. I can't separate them as only have one WIR and my garden isn't big enough for another run. Is this just a phase they're going through, are they bored, is it because they are moulting, will it stop!?

I have divided my walk in run into 2 for my newbies using the old Omlet run. If you don't have one of them, could you fashion something out of chickenwire or heavyduty plastic garden mesh? I'm using some to make a kind of corridor for my old girls and it's pretty chicken proof as the holes are very small. (I can't remember what it's called but I could take a photo).

I might have to Claire if it continues! I've got the day off today and have been checking on them, they have settled down now. Seems to be a half hour of bullying and then they return to normal, I will have to keep an eye on them and take it from there! Thanks for the tips both of you

A quick blast of a hose might help as well.
