wimble Posted August 29, 2009 Share Posted August 29, 2009 Roxy is 4 1/2 years old and has started to behave strangely. She comes when called but seems unable to see properly, does not peck for food on the ground and pecks randomly in the air. Even when I try to feed her by hand she cant seen to find the food. She has very runny poos and looks a bit depressed. She was always the dominant of my two but now spends most of the time alone or trailing Cleopatra who takes all the food on offer. Olly Posted August 30, 2009 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Sorry to say it Wimblechick, but 4 1/2 is quite old for a chicken, you don't say what breed she is, and some pure breeds can live a lot longer (my colleague has a 9-year old chicken) but for hybrids that is a pretty good age. I think it might be best to take her to the vet for advice - it doesn't sound as if she's very happy, which is the key thing. Hope you can get some help.
