Very strange....

Recommended Posts

We have just been up to replace 6 bumper bits that had worn out. We'd left them off for a while, but Harriets new growth that took 4mths is now gone again :shock:

So got hold of Sweetie and as we picked her up loads of clear mucusy fluid flew everywhere from her beak :?:?

Not seen anything like that before. We have fitted the bit and put her back and she is quiet and standing stock still!!!!

Anyone know why or what it is??? Do they hold fluid in their crops over night?

Thanks

K

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but sorry to hear about Harriet's feather loss. I've had the same problem with my bullied girl, Carmencita - I was so proud of her new shiny feathers. Out of interest, how long did it take for the bits to wear down? I'm not sure my bully girl's bit has worn down - am wondering whether another one is responsible this time round :?

If she had drunk a lot of water before bed and you accidentally squeezed her crop, maybe some would have been expelled..........Hazel did this when she had sour crop, but it wasn't clear fluid, it was revolting muddy colour, so hopefully Sweetie is ok.

Once she settled back in the house she would have been still as she'd have fallen asleep instantly again...at least my rabble do :anxious:

Sorry that wasn't much help, but I hope she feels better in the morning

Edited to say her expelled water WASN'T clear...makes more sense now  !!
