How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

My lovely normally very lively gingernut has not laid now for two days and today will be the third. She is puffing her feathers out and not feeding as normal. Her comb is bright red and upright. I have seen her drinking and she has had a little lettuce and some grated cheese (her favourite treat). I have checked her crop and it seems OK and also to see if she is egg bound, which I don't think she is. However, I am not exactly sure what I am looking for so could be missing something obvious.

 

All my hens seemed very off colour on Sunday and were sneezing a lot, but the others now all seem fine (although one is still sneezy) and I am not sure what to do! Should she go to the vet, but it is 45 minutes away and I don't want to upset her.

 

Any advice gratefully received. Thank you!!!

Someone with more experience will be along soon to offer advice, but to me it sounds like she could be about to lay a soft egg. The other thing to rule out is worms - has she been wormed recently?

Thanks. No I haven't and in fact was thinking it is about the right time. She was a little perkier just now and it probably doesn't help that the weather here is just miserable!!!
