emmat
Hello everyone Just after a little help/advice. One of my gingernuts has made an almighty racket the last 2 mornings at the time she usually lays her egg. Much louder than her usual chirps at this time of day (7am!). First noisy day she didn't lay at all... yesterday we got a broken egg from her and today nothing in there when I checked at 8am - she'd left the nesting box and stopped chirping by then too. In the last week she's laid a soft shell egg and one the size of a mini egg! Very unusual for her. She's on a special diet at the mo - as they all are - recommended by Barbera as they have pulled their knicker feathers out. So, she's getting extra protein and greens, plus tonic, garlic powder and grit. She free-ranges a few hours every day and is eating and drinking fine. Think I should be concerned about her noise and odd egg patterns? Thanks guys
Ain't Nobody Here
Sounds like she knows her eggs are a bit odd at the moment . I wouldn't worry unduly unless it continues for some time. It's not unusual to get the odd softie or tiny egg every now and then .
