I thought I was being clever having read about ripeneing tomatoes on vine, but silly moo here has cut them off and hung them in garage on stalks. I then checked google after and found you should hang whole plant. As usual we have loads of green ones so green tom chutney is a possibility also green tom soup. Won't tell OH - but they were raised and nutured by moi so he cant complain. Well he can and will but I won't tell him.

put them in a bag with a banana, that will ripen them nicely

I shouldn't think it will make any difference. It's just easier hanging up one plant than four trusses.

I have loads of greenies as well.

You don't HAVE to make chutney with every one.

Update - ripening faster than I can. We've had roasted tomato soup, salads you name it we've had it. So not for next year to ripen off in garage

I couldnt begin to advise you as some yrs I have failed miserably others like this - have had a blip and done well. Pick off side leaves and feed feed feed is my advice
