Eggquisite
Over the past few days we noticed a couple of of our frizzle girls appear to have increased red faces, today, I looked out of the window and to my shock saw Rhubster our Light Sussex cockerel mm how can we put it, well he was on top of one of our girls! It was the first time I'd actually seen this so it was a bit of a surprise to me let alone our frizzle I had said to OH yesterday that as the girls faces were quite red maybe we would see some eggs soon - they are around 22 weeks and with what I saw today wondered if that was just a coincidence or could that be a sign too? Redwing
The red faces are a sign of maturity and eggs will not be far off What is more telling is that the hen (hopefully) crouched as the cockerel approached her so thats an even bigger hint that eggs are imminent
